Attached Junior High School

The mission of our school, as a junior high school attached to a national university, is to play a leading role in the field of junior high school education in Yamanashi Prefecture by sharing the fruit of our research with the community. Our objective is to educate students to be sincere in learning, healthy and sensitive, self-motivated and ardent in cultivating their own potentialities, and learn to respect each other's individuality. We pioneered in the introduction of the semester system instrumental in generating "yutori" or latitude and in facilitating the development of unique education, and also the so called "modular system," in which the length of a class hour is freely set by combining three types of units (30-minute-unit, the regular 45-minute- unit, and 60-minute-unit), thus enabling us to create our flexible and unique curriculum making the most of characteristics of each subject. As for Self-Study classes or comprehensive learning known as "SELF," which we place in the afternoon, we conduct them in a flexible manner. We will further augment our efforts in pursuing what are needed for and required of junior high school education today.
