Course Description

Our principal aim is to train teachers with a high standard of ethics, knowledge, and skills in special education for children with disabilities. In view of the moves toward "Special Support Education" led by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, we believe that the contemporary needs are timely met by our curriculum, which enables students to obtain a teacher's certificate in elementary school education as well as in special education for children with disabilities. Students are to study development assessment methods, development support methods, the theory of school curriculum, the theory of classroom teaching and other related subjects in special education, through participating in seminars, experiments, and practical trainings in such areas as education, psychology, and physiology. In order to meet students' various wishes and interest, we offer a variety of elective classes such as "Introduction to Welfare of Children with Disabilities," "Children Psychiatry," "Cerebral Physiology and Pathology," and "Teaching Methods for Children with Disabilities." As mentioned above, students are eligible to obtain 1st class teacher's certificates for children with disabilities education and elementary school education on graduation, and they may also choose to obtain different kinds of teacher's certificates in accordance with their future plans.
